Israeli settlers attack Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah
There are many Palestinian families who are facing eviction Sheikh Jarrah. The Israeli settlers have ordered them to evict. These Israeli courts, which have no jurisdiction in Jerusalem under international law, is forcing Palestinians out of their homes. There’s one family that’s facing eviction in March, in just a few weeks and that’s the Salem family. Israeli settlers have come to provoke them.
As you can see in the tweet above, an Israeli politician set up a tent in their yard in front of their house in order to harass and antagonize them. It’s supposedly a parliamentary office. You also have these other Israeli settlers that were attacking Palestinians with pepper spray.
Honestly, it’s really wild. I want to show you something else. Look how they treat the press in the tweet below. You have reporters here trying to cover what’s happening and Israeli settlers harassing the media. You see the camera man and you’ve got these Israeli settlers coming with Israeli flags and this guy showing a middle finger and holding up the Israeli flag and flounder in front of the camera so they can’t see anything.
The most interesting part is the so-called Israeli border police that are standing around as you can see. Do you notice how they just look at it like they don’t care and that’s the whole point because all of this settler violence against Palestinians, it is endorsed by the Israeli occupation forces which come to accompany the Israeli Jewish settlers. Just watching them attack Palestinians, attack the media and they don’t do anything. They’re allowed to carry guns and arrest Palestinians take over their homes but for the Jewish settlers even though they’re the ones committing the violence, they endorse it. They enable it by just standing around as they harass media, throw chairs and use pepper spray. It’s unbelievable! Many of the Jewish settlers are themselves carrying machine guns. What’s ridiculous that they claim Israel is a democracy. Yeah, look how they treat the press, shoot journalists. [sarcastically] They kill and shoot journalists in Gaza whenever there’s a war. They just completely indiscriminately kill journalists and medical workers and when you try exposing the settler violence, this is how they treat you. However, this not the worst of it.
I just want to give you an idea how close this is to the Salem family’s home. It’s important to know that since the Salem family are facing eviction by this illegal Israeli court. They’re going to kick them and dozens of families out of their home so that Jewish settlers can move in. This is very close to Salem family’s house. This is a provocation. They’re putting a tent up in this family’s yard who are about to be evicted. Israeli settlers are dancing, making fun of them and harassing them. Every single day, this injustice keeps going on. The Salem family they are due to be evicted from their home. The Israeli politician, Ben Creel, has set up a tent office on the family’s yard to provoke them and, of course, with him, he has all these Israeli settlers next to the Salem family who are going to be forcibly evicted from their home.
This is injustice and it’s disgusting. I wish this were an isolated incident but it’s not. This is what Israel is. All of these people in Israel have come from outside of Palestine. Either they themselves or their parents or their grandparents have came to Palestine. This is how Israel has been built. This is done at the expense of the others. It’s at the expense of Palestinians, Syrians & Lebanese. Annexing the Golan Heights from Syria, violating the south Lebanon’s sovereignty and now Shabbat farms. Israel can only exist at the expense of others, specifically the Palestinians who have it worse than anyone else. These families that are being kicked out of their homes by these illegal Israeli courts are being made refugees a second time because the families who live in this place were already displaced once by Israel in 1948 during the Nekba which caused the ethnic cleansing and mass displacement of at least 800,000 Palestinians. The Israelis destroyed villages and raised them to the ground. Here, the Israelis try to pretend this didn’t happen.
The Israeli ambassador to the UK whom students were protesting when she was speaking at Cambridge union or the London school of economics used to be the settlements minister. The minister of settlements and she said that the Nekba is an Arab lie! Yeah, millions of Palestinians just randomly decided to leave their homes and give them to European Jews. [Sarcastically] You’re really funny. This is so disgusting. This is what America sponsors .This is what America is paying for. This is what American tax dollars buy and of course, it’s not just the Americans, it’s the British too. The UK is in large part responsible for the creation of Israel. I really think that it’s important for people to when you buy something, you should know what you’re buying and unfortunately, this is what Americans are buying with their tax dollars. This is what the United Kingdom helped to create. It’s really just one facet of it. You have 70 plus years of this going on, where Israelis are taking Palestinians homes either bulldozing them or kicking them out and taking the house.
Every single day, you see a Palestinian being beaten the Palestinian, being killed. I cannot keep count of how many times it happened. Every single day, I see this Palestinian in the West Bank was killed by the Israelis or that Palestinian over there being brutally arrested. I just saw this earlier today that a man with crutches being beaten up. A Palestinian man being beaten up by the Israeli forces. This disgusting. Really disgusting. It’s really disgusting. While they were beating that man, you could hear the broken Arabic of the Israelis who were saying: Get up! The dude has crutches, what do you mean get up? You just knock them on the ground. I’m not going to stop saying this, that under international law, Jerusalem was meant to be a separate body.
This is the U.N. who wanted Jerusalem to be separate. It’s important because the Israelis claim legitimacy from the U.N., saying Israel was recognized and admitted as a member state. That’s why it’s a legitimate state. But when U.N says that Jerusalem does not belong to Israel. It does not recognize the Jerusalem law when you annexed Jerusalem illegally in 1980. U.N. has been telling Israel to withdraw from Jerusalem and the Golan Heights. Israel hasn’t complied so anything the Israelis don’t like from the United Nations, they’re just going to ignore and the one thing that gives them legitimacy, they’ll accept. My point here is that these Israeli courts, which are kicking Palestinians out of their homes in Shaykh Jarrah, have no jurisdiction there. If a person breaks into another one’s house and set up a court and order them to get out of the house, does that mean it’s just or legitimate? Does it mean that it has jurisdiction to do so? This is insanity! This is their settler colonial mentality. Here, we see people who are who’ve come to Palestine, who are not from there, setting up these illegal courts, violating the U.N.’s Security Council resolutions and imposing evictions.
Israeli courts can’t evict someone who doesn’t live in their jurisdictions. I would add one more thing even if they were in Israeli jurisdiction, Israel is a colonial, illegal entity in all of Palestine. Not just the West Bank. Not just in Gaza. The entire regime is a colonial project. It was created by the British. It’s supported by the Americans. It’s just settler colonizers coming from all over the world and kicking Palestinians out. This is so repulsive how they do this. You’re not going to see this on mainstream media because this is the real side of Israel. This is what Israel is. This vile ethnic cleansing while making fun of the family that’s about to be evicted. I mean that’s frankly just abhorrent to go somewhere and set up a tent in other’s yard and make fun of them and provoke them because they’re about to lose their home.
This is how morally bankrupt Israel is. It’s so deplorable. It’s so reprehensible and you can’t tell Zionists anything. They think that they’re always right. They come up with all sorts of excuses like the Palestinians are terrorists or they don’t actually own these homes. They were given to them illegally by Jordan and so on and so forth when in fact it’s the Israelis who’ve been caught falsifying documents to get these homes. Allow me explain something to you very clearly. The Jews who are claiming these homes, it’s not actually individuals, it’s a settler organization that represents Israeli Jews. This isn’t like the house used to belong to this person 150 years ago and we’ll give it back to them. NO! It’s just going to be given to random people. One of the people who moved in one of these Israeli settlers is a American guy called Jacob. There’s that video that went viral where I think it was Mona alkur who was saying why are you stealing my house? And he responds: well, if I don’t steal it someone else is going to steal!
It’s true! They will just give it to any Jew. Their plan is to get the Palestinians out and give it to any Israeli settler. It doesn’t matter if they’re Australian or American. “Who the hell cares?”, they say to themselves. Just kick the Arabs out, kick the Palestinians out and take the homes. There’s a law from, I think, 1952 where they say that any Jew anywhere in the world can come to Israel and claim citizenship. You got to think about what that means that means if you’re an Australian Jew or you’re from anywhere it doesn’t matter, you could be British, Egyptian, Iraqi or whatever, you can just come to Palestine and get citizenship and you’re automatically treated better than the Palestinians. You’ll have more rights than them and you will have more resources than them, more protection than them. You’ll be treated like a first-class citizen meanwhile Palestinians will be treated not even like any citizen. Israelis just treat Palestinians like they’re sub-human. It is incredible because a Palestinian who’s been there for 10 generations or God knows how many generations is kicked out of his home. There are many Palestinians who’ve had to rebuild their homes multiple times. Their families had their homes bulldozed by Israel or they have to bulldoze their house themselves because the Israelis ask them about their permit for this building and obviously they say: NO, I don’t have a permit. What permit? Foreigners just came here and installed this colonial entity, so why and how would I have a permit from them? If one goes and give them the documents, they wouldn’t recognize it. They say that you have to demolish your house. You don’t have the permission to live here. This is not your house. Palestinians have to destroy their house. The house, they rebuild, would be destroyed again. It’s incredible if you don’t destroy the house yourself, the Israelis will destroy it for you and you have to pay for them for it. This is unreal. This is what’s happening every day in Sheikh Jarrah. You have all these families that have pending eviction and they’re about to be kicked out.
What’s shameful is that you’re not going to see any of this in mainstream media because they don’t want to show you the ugly side the real side of Israel. They don’t want to show you that Israel is a settler colony. It’s built at the expense of Palestinians.
